About Me

It‘s me Jara :) I’m an open minded person who loves being surrounded by nature (especially the sea), peoples, good music, dance movements and sunshine. To enjoy the moment where ever I am is one of the essences of life for me.

I graduated the bachelor’s degree in psychology at the end of ‘22 and started with my Master at university at the end of this year. The gap in between I used for some more travels as well as ‚going with the flow‘.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Get in contact with locals, to see the city/ surrounding/ country through their eyes is more authentic for me than booking a single room in hostels/ hotels. And I’m very interested in exchanging different stories about every topic by different peoples. So let’s grap a warming cup of tea or a glas of wine and let’s start talking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like different kind of music and are always open for something new. These days I like to listen to Milky Chance, Kayam, different types of musicals, afrobeats, oldies like the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac or Tracy Chapman, Fugees and so much more…

Reading books is something I’m doing when I have nothing else to do (like now). Books I can really recommend are “The Art of Hearing Heartbeats by Jan-Philipp Sendker“ or the books written by Irvin D. Yalom. „Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari“ is the book I’m currently reading.

I’m interested in different movie genres (except horror movies) and sometimes watching a series too while having a chilled evening on the couch.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One day a travelbuddy and me were on our way to explore the coast of South Africa with the aim of watching penguins in a nature reserve. Just 15min before we arrived we saw a few peoples standing next to the beach with binoculars. While thinking about what they probably observe we saw a huge fin of a whale who was very close. Afterwards we found out that it was mating season for them. It was pure happiness and kind of sacred moment for me to see this huge mammal in his natural habitat going on with the circle of life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I played the piano for a few years but stoped training because I needed to make a decision between my hobbies when I was in school. That’s the reason I just remember a few old songs I played before so I’m looking forward to start again with piano lessons.

Something I wanna share: never forget how powerful your open hearted smile can be to others as well as the other way around like a grumpy mood. It will go further than you may expect.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sharing my place if you don’t have any intolerances to dogs (because Snoopy, a senior Malteser lives here too). Also showing you the city with nice spots. If you wanna have a few advices where to go partying my boyfriend Paul is quite a good counsellor ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain
