About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bring more of the Dirty Hippie Freak show out of my head and into reality.

ABOUT ME

Lifelong geek (internet since 1989), I worked on Pier 39 for 6 years, ending in 2001. I play guitar (since 1982), and work on my show (DHFshow is 5th in the progression), which also incorporates Comedy and Superpowers (only impossible until you do it). Key points are "Agreeing to Disagree Agreeably" and acclimating Analog Natives to the future...what those under 30 call the Present.

---> Come see the show live at Cactus Mexican Restaurant in Woodbridge, CA, a small part of Ty's Open Mic every Thursday beginning at 7pm...when not performing elsewhere...

For the current version of the crown jewel ("The Perfect High" by Shel Silverstein), please visit the following Google Drive links (MP3 format).

**Be advised it has some profanity**

A couple of minutes of original comedy, performed at Sacramento Comedy Spot. Will re-shoot to slow the pacing, but still worthy of posting: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwL9HGttI40PbUxkd0lURWJqVWM/edit?usp=sharing

PHILOSOPHY

It's like its own martial art. Most are "fight," one is "flight" (parkour). Peace, love and understanding, combined with **peacefully** standing one's ground is the third way.

Can only ascend to the next "belt" if I can teach others, just as with martial arts...though the path is power through peace through assimilation with like minds.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently assisting elderly parents. When they are gone, I hope to surf the world.

Currently planning a CS segment for the show.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the aftermath of the Great Recession, Couchsurfed for 3 years with friends...until mom went in the hospital and needed me when she came out.

Interests

Getting my shows out of my head and into reality. Have DVDs of past work, but the audio show (Sneakernet, via audio CD) incorporates bits of all of them. Living Well on Next-to-Nothing is a strong one. Want to do more StoryCorps segments, when I have a volunteer to interview me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Zeitgeist Moving Forward (but add cryptocurrency to explain leaving money on the steps of the Fed)

Extremely Loud, Incredibly Close (Tom Hanks is in it, but...)

AMERICAN: The Bill Hicks Story

Bands: Animal Bag, Living Colour, Apocalyptica, Rush (Snakes & Arrows a "must hear")

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ONE? Good luck with that.

2014 was my tenth Haight Ashbury Street Fair as a volunteer. While I speak for them in no way, I have learned a great deal.

2015 will be my first as the Dirty Hippie Freak at HASF. Here is my Sacramento Comedy Spot set during Open Mic Scramble in Oct. 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcaBm039LZE

Due to the FLOML, I got to experience Music in the Mountains for over a decade, as well as travel (as far as Mazatlan) and learn a great deal about listening.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since the Final Love of My Life ended things 4 years ago, I have expanded my use of The Sedona Method to "releasing" things others think are impossible. I do not want to play The Crying Game...just good times with friends...

Men tend to fix things, but women see connections, which leads the way to more elegant solutions. Listening is key for me to make informed decisions.

The Power of Now...it's all we have power over...

What I Can Share with Hosts

There is far too much to mention here. In addition to all that is in the show, I have 25 years of retail experience over fairs, malls, and Pier 39, in addition to RadioShack for 6 years...and all the stories...Berkeley...San Fran...
