About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Filling the Well. I'm always looking for inspiration for design and art
ABOUT ME
I love typography. That may seem like a strange intro, but wherever I go I am always looking at the visual culture of the people living there. I like to think of myself as intelligent, thoughtful, interesting and fun. Although I'm sure there are those that would object. I love reading and writing, playing music (pianist and percussionist).
PHILOSOPHY
Create Meaning Full Connections.
Connections are what life is all about. I'm not talking about business connections or love connections (but they also play a part) Meaningful connections run deeper than that. Whether its a shared love for chocolate or the music of KISS. The important thing is the connection between two or more people.
I have used this philosophy for my graphic design practice and think it also applies to life. The connections we make with people, places and things need to have meaning in order to really impact who we are.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a fantastic surfing experience in New York and have loved the people we've hosted here. Looking forward to hosting more lovely people and hopefully traveling a bit more.
Interests
Music, art, culture, seeing the interactions of people. I also love reading, writing, drawing, singing, dancing (club, modern, ballroom) and enjoying the silence of nature.

Music, Movies, and Books
Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged' outlines many of my basic beliefs about life.
Just finished 'Naked' by David Sedaris. Wonderfully raw and funny.
Currently reading Ann Patchett's 'Bel Canto'
Love the Matrix, V for Vendetta, LOTR, Gattaca, Emperor's New Groove, Brokeback Mountain, Kinsey, House of Flying Daggers
Music is a little more difficult to pinpoint. I love anything well-written, that shows skill in musicality or thought. I also love classic Broadway (some new), techno/electronic, dance, some r&b, even some country.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to drive Milton Glaser (world-renowned graphic designer, did the "I (heart) New York" logo) and Steven Heller (editor of the New York Times and design critic) around Utah for a day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach people about the things I'm interested in (which I hope is how most people are). I love words, etymology (where they come from). My BFA project is going to be a redesign of the dictionary to be more of a resource than this huge volume that sits on a shelf and collects dust.
Spirituality and religion are always interesting to learn from.
