About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living and learning every day. Excited for what lies ahead.

ABOUT ME

Hmmm...all about me? That's a big ask. I love many things - friends and family are right up there on the list. In general people and their stories fascinate me.I spend my time doing lots of yoga, reading, writing, riding my bike, dancing, spending time with my nearest and dearest.I'm about to head to South America, more specifically Colombia, on a one-way ticket. I don't know exactly what I'm going to find but I'm excited.

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live is the basic motto I like to live by. We all have our own experience and personal truth that informs the way we see the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music makes life better. I'm a big fan of many genres but Latin is definitely right up there. Also reggae, lounge, roots, classical and folk. Anything can be good in the right moment.
Movies: In the Mood for Love, Amores Perros, The Waiting City, Annie Hall, Volver, Todo sobre mi madre and many more...
Favourite books: A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth, A Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best experiences seem to be borne from spontaneity and one of my favourite memories is of an impromptu road trip taken to the south of Spain when I lived there in 2007. I went to Valencia for Las Fallas and then took off with some new friends I'd made till we made it to Granada. My parents were worried I'd been sold into the slave trade but I had an incredible time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been told I'm a good teacher when it comes to languages and writing in particular. Also always happy to do editing/proofreading, talk social science and language and cook a delicious meal.
