关于我

CURRENT MISSION

The world is a big place. So is Canada, so I'll tackle home first.

ABOUT ME

I'm 24 years old, I love listening to music and making it, I love people, and I love travel and the places that travel brings me to.

As I mentioned in my "education" section, I don't really know what I want to do with my life, but every day its looking more and more like it will be in music. Ideally if I could make enough money to keep myself alive just by playing music, I'd be very content. Really though, I just want to be involved somewhere between the music being made and the record going into the hands of the eager fan.

For a few months last summer I paid my rent, groceries, and fun just by busking here in Fredericton, and I have to say, it felt really good. I don't think I'd mind a life provided by music.

Hmm, what else? I appreciate times with friends and I also appreciate time alone. I like going out and experiencing things and having an adventure but I also absolutely love being lazy and watching TV or playing video games.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to believe I can trust people. Giving people the benefit of the doubt is one of the best things you can do.

Also, you can't wait for things to happen to you, you have to make them happen.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Two years ago I hitchhiked with a friend from the east coast of Canada to Edmonton, Alberta, and then by myself from Edmonton to Tofino BC and then back east and couchsurfed some spots along the way.

I'm going to be driving from Fredericton to Medicine Hat in September as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've had four couchsurfing experiences: in Ottawa, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Victoria -- all of which were me couchsurfing.

兴趣

I love music of all sorts, I love playing guitar and singing, I love meeting new people, I haven't been to a lot of places travelling before, but I am very interested in seeing new places. I love movies and good television (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia ftw), I'm kind of a fussy eater, but I really wish to change this, I don't try enough food but I'll be damned if I let my taste buds go to waste any longer, OH and space! I love astronomy and literally anything that has to to with outer space. One of my favourite things to do is look at the stars on a really clear night and just talk about the universe, or listen to the sweet sweet sounds of Carl Sagan or BOTH at the SAME TIME.

音乐、电影和书籍

I listen to a lot of music, and I'm very open to new music. If its good, I like it. When I'm not travelling I try to listen to 4 or 5 new albums a week, because there is just so much music out there, I want to listen to it all!

And the feeling of finding a band/album that just fits you perfectly is one of the best feelings in the world.

Some of my favourite musicians/bands are Tobacco, Beck, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Liars, Flying Lotus, Darker My Love, Boards of Canada, Neon Indian, Zackey Force Funk, the Flaming Lips, Deerhunter, Elliot Smith, Can, My Morning Jacket,Wilco, Miles Davis, Otis Redding, White Fence, The Pixies, Xavier Rudd, Nirvana, Little Dragon, the list goes on and on.

For books I'd have to say I'm a huge fan of science fiction but I don't limit myself to one genre. One of the best books I've read lately was Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The most Canadian thing I've ever seen was a Beavers home, a lodge I believe its called, with a Canadian flag on top.

Also, never in my life did I ever think I would ever get to see the Pixies live, but lasta few summers ago they went to Moncton on their Doolittle reunion tour. It. was. awesome. It sounded even better than the record and the show was just crazy.

Also also in Sept of 2010 I got to see Xavier Rudd in the Harvest Jazz and Blues fest here in Fredericton, and that was pretty amazing too. Tickets sold out a month before but when I went to my first day of classes and STU and had World Music my prof told us one of the required concerts was Xavier Rudd and he acquired the last 40 tickets. Best class ever.

But hands down the most amazing thing I've ever done in my opinion was hitchhiking across Canada. I met a lot of good people and saw a lot of this country which up until that point I had seen very little of.

教,学,和分享

I can teach guitar pretty well. Also I'm pretty good with anything electronic so I end up helping people with their technology a lot.
