Hi there!

I'm an easy going, no fuss, go with the flow lass from Australia. I'm embarking on a Canadian adventure which I hope will be a wonderful journey filled with stunning views, sincere people and a whole lot of Poutine!

I've done some travelling previously when I lived in the UK but barely scratched the surface. I'm hoping to explore the best of every province whilst I'm working in Canada so if you have any tips or hidden gems to share, I'd be happy to hear them.

I'm open, flexible and able to adapt to different situations quickly. I'm very sociable but also respectful of peoples personal space. I love to meet new people and find out what inspires them but most of all share stories and experiences.

Friends know me as the positive one who can always see the best in every situation. I am a huge believer in choosing your reactions and taking action to get the most out of what you want in life. I don't have many complaints in life and reserve a lot of space for other people's realities.

So that's me in a nutshell. I hope to get to know a little bit more about you!

I'm on the look out for authentic cultural exchanges and feel like locals always know best! What better way to soak up culture and learn new things about my environment than from the people who live and breathe it everyday.

Unfortunately I only heard of this platform recently after I'd already left Australia (someone's been living under a rock?!) so I haven't had the opportunity to officially host, as yet. I've had many friends and friends of friends from overseas and interstate take up offers of spare rooms and couches on their holidays. So I've had ample experience at placing folded towels on the end of the bed, just like the hotels do 😅 I hope to meet some new people who I can one day officially return the favour to in my beautiful part of the world!

I love all things food and want to try as many traditional cuisines as I can however I'm also partial to a giant burger at any chance I get.

I love the water! Any water activities like kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, canoeing and I'm there! I also took to wakeboarding and water skiing in Australia. I love it! If I can find somewhere to keep practising I know I'll be pro in no time ha!

I don't have a specific taste in music, it depends on how I'm feeling or what I'm doing. Are we at a karaoke bar? I hope so! I'll happily belt out Bon Jovi's Livin on a Prayer after warming up on Toto's Africa. Try not to judge me too harshly for the following 😝 Anything goes really! From 90's RnB (cue Ja Rule, Usher or TLC), Electro/pop (maybe Zhu, Rudimental, Mura Masa) or the Aussie legends AC/DC!!
Any culturally specific music is always a bonus find too. Most recently I found myself in a tiny bar in Portugal, listening to Fado. It was beautiful!

I'm not really a book reading person and I doubt my University text books count...? It's more news and travel articles for me.

I've watched 'Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls' countless times, as a kid and as an adult. Apart from that, give me an action movie over any other genre.

Snorkelling in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia! It might be bias but it had been on my bucket list for so long and I was completely in awe of the beauty that was within my own country! After travelling abroad for some time just prior it made me appreciate what I have on my own doorstep.

Hmmm... Nothing useful to teach comes to mind but I can fold a paper crane... I'll start you on your way to 1000, my gift to you!

There are so many things I would like to learn! Languages, yoga or candle making perhaps!? I also want to learn about the history and culture of cities I visit. The more we learn about other people's cultures, interests or points of view the more we can understand and accept our differences so I'm all ears.

I'm a bit OCD so tidiness is in my veins! Organising pantries and just sorting anything is something I can't help but do. Any household chors you've been putting off let me at it! Although you may have to put up with that 90's RnB music I mentioned earlier. I'd be happy to run any errands too, it makes it all the more authentic and gets me out and about.

I'm not a superstar chef but I can cook up a storm when needed.
