ABOUT ME

I grew up in an apartment in New York City, then went to Virginia and Tennessee for school. Despite my urban upbringings, I've always loved the outdoors, particularly the mountains. I managed to spend summers in a bunch of random places for jobs, internships, etc. I've been living in New York but have managed to travel a fair amount.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that we have a very finite amount of time on this Earth so we must make the most of it at all times. Unfortunately I have been known to not live by this tenet at times and have wasted far too many hours...

I just joined Couchsurfing when I decided to travel for a couple of months.

I've stayed with a couple of people so far and have had good experience and met a lot of new friends.

Music: almost any rock, some country (I did live in Nashville for 3 years)
Books: All the King's Men, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, everything by Tom Wolfe, Michael Lewis, Hunter S. Thompson, Jon Krakauer. Lately I've been reading a lot of periodicals, so there isn't much time left to read real books.

After finishing school in 2009, my friend and I drove to Washington and climbed to the summit of Mt. Rainier. Also, completing the NY Marathon in 2010 in 30 seconds under my goal of 4:30.
