Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

I'm couchsurfing so that I can meet locals in whatever part of the world I happen to be in. Someone that knows where the hidden swimming hole is, where the best local coffee/beers are brewed, and what events may be going on in the area, but also where are the tourist traps, where should I not be at night, what restaurant do I need to avoid.

Centres d'intérêt

Interests are running, triathlons, anything new that I've never done before, outdoor activities (trekking, kayaking, kite-surfing)....also in to much more mellow things like drinking, people watching, local shows/events (comedy, musicians). I could sit on the sidewalk drinking local wine/beer and people-watch for hours.

In each location I will also have to do all the check-the-box tourist sites...but those are typically pretty quick.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

My highest sense of accomplishment comes from my 2014 Ironman Wisconsin finish in 34th place in 9:52. This was my 2nd full-distance Ironman and I was unsure of what to expect. I far exceeded my expectations in each discipline and missed qualifying to the Ironman World Championships in Kona by 21 bitter seconds. Was a hard pill to swallow but was a major turning point in my confidence in myself as a triathlete.
