About Me

Hi!

I am 25 years old and I'm originally from Cape Town, South Africa. I am a sportsmen, I played rugby, cricket, soccer and took up Muay Thai last year. I have duel nationality, that being South African and British.

I am excited to have an adventure across Europe and create awesome, lasting memories! I am honest, and respectful towards my fellow peers. I do not look for confrontation and I am aware of others and try cause the least amount of hassle by not getting in anyone's way or business.

I am truthful and tidy after myself, be it in the bathroom or kitchen, especially if I am a guest in someone's house. I can be responsible and people can rely on me if they need to! I think things through before jumping the gun, so to speak. I am not a big party/club addict as I would prefer to have friends over for a braai (barbecue), drink beer, and have a relaxed evening of talking and messing around but this doesn't mean I wont be looking to experience the night life of each destination that I hopefully get to visit.

So if you are a host in Europe, get in contact with me please! I need to create a network so I can start my travel dreams...

To sum me up, I am very easy to get along with, a practical joker, sarcastic and witty, and I make friends easily with my relaxed and welcoming persona.

PHILOSOPHY

During my schooling career, I was labelled 'The Joker' as I found the humor in everything! And enjoy the moment! Be sarcastic, be witty but respectful! And in the end, you want to be able to look back and say to yourself "Yeah, I captured my time there and took full advantage of it!" Yeah yeah!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Trying to create a network by trying to explore Europe with just CouchSurfing! Also trying to attend local meet ups of CS users :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had my first CS experience on 14 September in Cologne and Aachen! Was pretty epic! Need more :D

Interests

I like exploring new places and taking many, many photos! I want to experience all the different cultures in Europe which is vast! From the 'October-Fest' vibe to the relaxed, coffee-drinking infused streets of Italy. I love the architecture of historical monuments, or even everyday buildings that are detailed and astonishing to look at!

For example, the Cologne Cathedral and bridge that I was able to visit in my last trip... I was left speech-less at how big it was! I have mainly interested, in terms of why I want to travel, in viewing sights and just being able to tick a place off my bucket list and of course creating memories via photos and experiencing it with people I meet along the way. Learning is done by experiencing what the world has to offer and I want to learn and have that sense of freedom.

Music, Movies, and Books

My love for movies is vast! I enjoy genres from Action to Comedy. My list is too long to even begin!

Music, that ranged from Michael Buble to Nickelback. I listen to Seal, Rammstein, Drowning Pool, Godsmack, Hinder, Casper and so on... I have a vast music range but no rap ^^

Books, I like to read non-fiction. So a lot of Andy McNab to Jeremy Clarkson. I'm into fiction books that revolve around action mostly, so no romantic, drama material for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying over Zurich when I left Cape Town for England for the first time this year! The view was out of the world! With the snow-covered mountain tops! I was left in awe!

I went on my first ever 'holiday' to Europe a few weeks ago with a group of friends! On my own dime, so it made it even more special! I went to Cologne for a few days and from there the group of us went to Cala Ratjada, Mallorca for 10 days! I have never seen such a beautiful place! The vibe I got when we got to the apartment... I thought - "I am in Spain, with my good mate and friends, with no rules or obligations! I can do what I want, whenever I want!" -. And I met a special person while I was there, which made my time there even more memorable!
