About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To escape from the necessity of making money in order to sustain life. My goal being simple: to experience the world outside of North America

ABOUT ME

I'm currently working full time for eBay in their HR department. I've been with the company for almost 3 years and even though I thought I would hate working for a large corparate company I actually love it. My work allows me to still be very vocal and I interact with people from all around the world as eBay is a global company.

I'm aslo a full time student at a California State University so needless to say I stay pretty busy between school and work. This is the second time I've gone back to school and I plan on finish up this time around. The first go around I was a civil engineer major and full time soccer player. Really didn't care too much about school except for the fact that it was allowing me to play four more years of competitive soccer. A wrist injury and some bad grades later I dropped out and worked in sales for a few years. Went back to school in nutrition as I have become very involved in fitness and a nutritional lifestyle. Realized that I can't make any money in nutrition so now I'm back at school for a business degree.

So besides work and school I spend my time with my friends just livin' it up. I hardly ever go a night without laughing histarically and love being around happy/funny people. I'm always up for a challenge no matter what the sport or activity. I've played soccer, tennis, waterpolo, track, and volleyball competitively and play just about everything else as well. Ball, puck, disc, or shuttle cock; doesn't really matter to me.

I've just been to New Zealand as my first non-North American vacation and now I can't wait for my next opportunity to travel over seas!

PHILOSOPHY

“But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, his greatest fulfillment of all he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious.” - Vince Lombardi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just joined and hope to provide a safe haven for those passing through California. I'll have my first couch surfer in a few days and I'm stoked about it.

I hope to spend time on dozens of couches under dozens of roofs in dozens of countries, but all under the same stars. I know it's cliche but I still find it amazing that two people can be thousands of miles away but looking at the exate same point of the universe millions of miles away at the exact same time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted once in San Jose for one night and it went smoothly as I had hoped. Next time I'd like to take any guests around if they come by on a weekend.

I stayed in Fiji and New Zealand for a total of 19 days and was primarily couch surfing. I spent less than $100 NZ dollars during my entire trip for accomodations and met dozens of fantastic people. Gotta love couchsurfing!

Interests

You name any event where there is a winner and a loser and I'm interested. Sports, exercise, nutrition, movies, music, and beer!

I'd love to pick up new sports in my travels. Rugby, cricket, curling, anything...

My sister is a big time cycler and that's my next endeavor.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like it ALL. Except for folk music, I still can't see why anyone would listen to it??? :-P

I'm stoked that they're making a movie from Dan Brown's Angels and Demons. I know it's not the hardest read or very philosophical but it's still a great book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've played for the number one college soccer team in the United States.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone to juggle. The juggling with your hands, like with an apple and orange and mango. Or I can teach you to juggle a soccer ball, balance it on your head and then give it a kiss.
