CURRENT MISSION

Besideds working I love to travel. For me, travelling not only means being somewhere else but also the actual travel by foot, bike, bus, car, train or airplane.

ABOUT ME
I grew up in Frankfurt, then spent a year in Eagleville (Missouri) to learn swimming, went to Paris for a year to get my drivers licence, then moved to Munich to study...then I forgot to book a train ticket to a different city so I am still living and working in Munich (unless I am out of town).

I am open-minded and I have a collection of air sickness bags - most of them are unused. I love flying and taking trains and looking out of the window or read. Driving a car often is a waste of time but sometimes part of the journey. I eat and drink a lot for a guy of my size.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to frequently host guests, but my new couch is quite uncomfortable. Besides, I have the impression that in the past years the surfers are more looking for free accomodation rather than meeting and interacting with other couchsurfers so I have stopped hosting.
When I am traveling, I offer good company.

Interests

My main interest is travelling... . When I am not travelling I try to spent the time with friends and family...going cycling, sailing, hiking or just drinking a beer at some "Biergarten" or bar...

Books: David Sedaris, Roald Dahl, Jon Stewart, A Clockwork Orange, The Second Coming...
Movies: The Big Lebowski, Lucky # Slevin, Quentin Tarantino, Up in the air...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have seen some guys striking their heads with axe blades, cutting their tongues with knives and rolling in broken glass at a vegetarian festival in Thailand...I have beent to a very crazy wedding ceremony in Indonesia...I landed in the middle of a landfill after a balloon flight in the Yangshuo area in China...and spent 3 days at a friends wedding in India.

I have a range of smaller knowledge (i.e. repairing my toilet flush) that I can pass on as well. And I have LOTS of travel experience.
