About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn, and learn to share what I've learned, better myself so that I can appreciate and understand more and more fully the beauty of the world around me...

ABOUT ME

I'll try to not stay intimidated too long by this blank square ... Maybe I should say nothing and let you know me, if only you accept to be my host or guest!
This will be partly true anyways, but still, here's a little introduction so you know what to expect, I guess I am known to have a permanent smile planked on my face. I'm pretty easygoing, because I don't seem to hurry up so much, I guess that's cause I like being able to take my time to do things well. I think that I generally make people feel comfortable and listened to, I am honestly interested in hearing peoples' perspectives on things, on themselves and the world they understand to be living in. People usually appreciate my patient listening.
I am quite action oriented, I like to move and feel useful, I like to help..But I also feel the need for my actions to be thought through, talking and reflecting longly (especially around tea), reading for inspiration and writing are just as important as are being physically ans socially active. I do like the theoretical stuff, I have to in university, but I like the hands on stuff, working the earth, playing music,
I love cooking healthy and tasty food and sharing it with many.Although I do enjoy being alone, I am very people oriented and like to be able to share beautiful moments with wonderful people. I like to travel but to take my time when I do, staying long enough to learn for real.
What else? I am studying cultural anthropology, so learning about different perspectives on similar things, and experiencing different environments and ways of life, I think can only bring one to grow in more humane way. So looking forward to meeting those of you couchsurfers who will be passing nearby my next home, or who might lend me a piece of their own.

PHILOSOPHY

Its not entirely figured out yet, and luckily too, but here's one I like to keep in mind...

"The thought manifests as the word. The word manifests as the deed. The deed develops into habit. And the habit hardens into character. So watch the thought and its ways with care. And let it spring from love, born out of concern for all beings." Buddha-

I'm not Buddhist, but if it were just for this teaching I might consider it..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the official couchsurfing community, but I have always couchsurfed (although I didn't know there was a name invented for this couchliving yet) and more often than not have had people occupying every available mattress in my house. For the past five years I've been living in apartments shared between 5 to 10 people. The lifestyle we naturally created and philosophy we unofficially but effectively all agreed upon made our home known for its open doors..anyone who contributes generously and with honest intentions to a harmonious atmosphere, and respects the official inhabitants' space and need for some intimacy, are welcome. We function quite well sharing meals, chores, ideas and most things in the house. I think the openness and easygoingness that this common lifestyle created inspired many passers by to stay, or to tell other travellers about our home where they'd most likely find a place to stay, and therefore, it became quite a normal thing to find a new someone sleeping in our living room or making himself a cup of tea in the kitchen..theres quite rarely an empty couch anymore!! I'm absolutely enchanted to find that this philosophy of sharing space, time, ideas and stories with strangers on the simple premise of their being open minded exists in an organized and accessible way. I am currently abroad and therefore can not offer a couch, but will do as soon as I'm settled again. I am looking forward to look into the different CS activities and groups, and see what I can do to make the community grow in numbers and in ideas.
