ABOUT ME

I am a newbie here, planning to travel in the nearest future and to find new friends all over the world.

Was born in Arkhangelsk, Russia, living in St.Petersburg since 2003. I work as a copywriter and part-time as an interpreter (great thanks to my mother who taught me English since early childhood). My greatest passion is literature, so now I am planning to continue my studies as a postgraduate student and to write a PhD thesis about my favourite American author Denise Levertov).

I am keen on poetic translation. Among the authors I tried to translate there are American Beat and Beat-related authors: Allen Ginsberg, Gregory Corso, Amiri Baraka, Denise Levertov, Charles Bukowski, gary Snyder, Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Want to know and try more, of different countries, centuries and movements ;)

I am a huge music fan, from classical and jazz to noise and industrial and from Irish folk to trip hop. I often attend live concerts in St.Petersburg and Moscow.

Sometimes I take part in eco-actions (such as forest plantation).

Very happy with my partner, who is also a huge meloman as well and is really keen on languages. In my family life, I am happy to realize that we can teach each other much - both in intellectual and psychological way.

Poetry, music, nature, religion (I am Catholic, but I cannot say I am very religious), drawing, poetic translation, Internet (LiveJournal, social networks).
