Hallo!
I'm Jauke Visser from Wâlterswâld (Friesland, The Netherlands). Living in a place which used to be an old farm, which is transformed into a nice home. Together with my parents, sister, 1 cat, 1 dog and 5 horses.

Graduated Civil Engineering in 2021, started working in a dredging company and have been traveling to many places in the Middle East for work. Maintained the beaches at Palm Jumeirah of Dubai, dug a tunnel from Denmark to Germany, making new islands in Abu Dhabi and deepening the ports of Alexandria and Damietta in Egypt.

All this to save up some cash, travel in my time off, run, hike, climb, camp, cook food and spend time with as many people as I can.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Started Couchsurfing in 2016. Had the most amazing month of my life, using couchsurfing to travel through California, Utah and Nevada.

I’ve been CouchSurfing for a while now, and have nothing but amazing experiences with it. There’s so much to learn from others.

兴趣

The thing I like the most about traveling is exploring the culture and nature. I prefer camping over staying in a hotel, and I love go on adventures in the woods/mountains.

Lately I've been getting hooked to trailrunning. Finished some nice runs in the Alps, dunes of Holland and Fjords of Norway. Training for the 160km distance now after finishing 60k, 80k and 113km.
