Hey there!

I'm Javiera, from Chile, and I'm flying to Italy on October 13th to visit some friends. I'm staying with them most of the trip but I'd really like to visit some other cities where I'd love to meet (or stay) with locals!

I'd describe myself as a travel enthusiast, creative soul and language lover. I love learning new things (I've had all kinds of hobbies) but lately I enjoy yoga, ceramics and watercolor painting. I've also been studying Italian for a couple of years now and I've decided it's time to test myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My CS account is a few years old but this is the first time I'm actually planning to use it. I'd love to meet authentic italians to practice the language and spend some time together. I want to really immerse myself in italian culture and its people.

I like to think of myself as easy-going, polite and respectful of others and their place. I'm talkative but not too loud (I can adapt to different personality types and their needs). I'm looking forward to make new friends, share our travel experiences and, of course, improve my italian!

I might give back to the community and offer a couch in the future to other travelers as well :)

Interests

I'm a designer and artist, I do photography on-and-off and have tried quite a few crafts. I'm also a dog person and a plant lady.

When traveling I enjoy walking around interesting places, visiting all kinds of museums and exhibitions, and of course, trying new things (and food).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

• I took a light aircraft to visit one of the southernmost places in the world once (Cabo de Hornos, Chile).
• Swam with bioluminiscent plankton in the Caribbean and saw humpback whales in Ecuador.
• Spent 1 year living with a host family in the US as a foreign-exchange student when I was a teenager.
