About Me

Writer/Columnist - Communications/Publishing & MktgPro - Travel Volunteer/Adventurist

I have been involved in the publishing world for over 27 years ... did the "corporate thing" ... now happy to be back to a simpler thing ... = )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in a transition phase. I have just returned from a nine month service mission in Nepal - doing earthquake relief and rebuilding - development work.

I also wrote a series of columns for a local newspaper, the Tri-Lakes Tribune, Monument, Colorado ... original article https://issuu.com/pikespeaknewspapersinc/docs/tribune_0210_final/c/sp5d3xa

I intend to start graduate school soon in Montana - Univ MT, Journalism, Earth Science. I am currently interviewing for jobs in the Missoula and Kalispell areas. [update: just accepted great job in Missoula!!!]

During the transition, it will be good to learn from locals about all of the wonderful things regarding Montana. In the meantime, I am also still couchsurfing with friends in the Colorado Springs area, and need be conscious and gracious of my friend's hospitality and personal space needs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Kashmir - Led Zeppelin, Shawshank Redemption, Stranger in a Strange Land - Robert Heinlein.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent nine months living and working in Nepal doing earthquake relief and redevelopment work ... from the bustling streets of Kathmandu, trekking the sacred GosainKunda trail, working and rebuilding in a remote village high in the Nuwakot District of the Himalayas (a six hour hike after going as far as possible by wheeled transportation), and living in a village near the oldest Hindu Temple in Nepal - Changu Nayaran - Bhaktapur.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have original Thankas - Mandelas from Nepal ... hand-painted by students, intermediate artists, and master artist.

Belize, Canada, Colombia, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Qatar, Scotland, Turkey
