About Me

Happily married gay man, who has a passion for travel. I often travel alone because somebody has to stay home and work. I have two wonderful grown children. Have visited 48 states and over 65 countries. We love having guests in our home. We feel young and act young, so we tend to gravitate toward a younger crowd. Don't plan to get old until I have no friekin' choice.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When traveling, all I need is a place to sleep, refresh, and repack. I prefer a couch in a private home, hostels, or B&Bs to hotels. First because hotels are a waste of time and money, and secondly I really enjoy the human element not found in hotels. Unfortunately hostels are not found everywhere so I'm so couch surfing fills that void!

We can offer our couch of course, We also offer a pull-out twin bed in our museum loft., but may have a queen bed available in a private room with private bath, but full room is only available when not occupied by family or B & B guests.. We can offer a small cozy space for a short term male guest or male duo. We have a safe clothing optional home, with a large private backyard as well. Nudity is optional, not required, but especially on warm weekends there might be other guys naked in the backyard. My husband is not a naturist, but he is completely comfortable with nudist or textile guests. If our guests are clothed, we will both also be clothed. We are very straight friendly so no worries for any of our guests. Public train and buses are nearby.

Interests

Photography is my main interest related to traveling. I also enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, diving, snorkeling, meeting people, massage and anything culinary. My interests are pretty limitless and include things as varied as wood carving, home renovation and fossil collecting. I am a naturist, love to be naked outdoors, kind of an eclectic guy! Don't mistake eclectic for weird! I just enjoy everything in life but do so in a socially normal way!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all music, unless its too loud or repetitive. Morrissey, Maroon 5, Barenaked Ladies, Macklemore, Elvis, Coldplay, Gaga, Usher, and the Four Seasons are among a wide variety on my playlists. Love a good epic drama, comedy, good sci-fi, and adventure & thriller movies. I prefer non-fiction to fiction, unless it is something really well written and not what everyone else is reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Have done many amazing things, I cycled 780 miles by bike in six days, lived with a stone age tribe in New Guinea, walked with wild lions in Zimbabwe, swam with great white sharks in South Africa, meditated with wild gorillas in Uganda, played with orangutans in Borneo, climbed many active volcanoes all over the world, ridden a camel through the Sahara, stood in the tomb of Tutankhamun in Egypt, just to mention a few, but my most amazing adventures were raising my two awesome children and loving my wonderful husband and now my adorable granddaughter.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've traveled the world, and have learned these things. We are all the same. Ignorance and unfamiliarity breed fear and mistrust. Open your mind, your heart, and your home. Get to know people and they become your brothers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversation, laughter, quiet contemplation, genuine friendliness. I only speak English, but my husband is also fluent in Spanish. We are clean quiet and friendly, Love making new friends.
