About Me

If I'm travelling and/or meeting people from different places from myself, I'm pretty happy.

I haven't couch-surfed since Europe in '07, hosted in Seattle in '14. I'm transitioning from an unfulfilling career to [hopefully] a new one, live in Seattle, and I love to travel. I really like food and trying new local ones is one of the best things about traveling.

About to spend a month in Peru (and Bolivia?), kind of nervous about traveling alone - not for fear, but because I get lonely! 😅

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll do what I can for people coming to Seattle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met with a couple of people in Croatia to sleep on a beach! (It was rocky and forested but with GORGEOUS water). Hosted some Germans in Seattle

Interests

Cooking/food, healthcare/medicine, animals, sailing/scuba diving, games... I'd like to think I can hold my own on other topics of conversation, too, though.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch a lot of movies, I listen to lots of music, and I don't read much anymore :\. Player of Games by Iain Banks was really fun to read; Being Mortal by Atul Gawande is kind of depressing, but probably not if you're not in the US healthcare system.

Guilty pleasure movie that I can watch too often: Hot Fuzz.

I've kept up with some the big TV shows - Breaking Bad, most of Game of Thrones, West World, Stranger Things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wandered out onto the Matanuska Glacier waaay beyond what was advisable, where it was just wind, blue ice, and me. Only time so far I've wished that I had a VR camera to try and share that with friends, but it wouldn't do it justice.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I know I am always happy to teach and share. What I don't know I'm always happy to learn. No, really!
