About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being human - celebrating creativity - embracing life - making connections

ABOUT ME

I am based in Belfast, but grew up in Nepal and have an incurable travel bug, though I also like making myself at home where I am. I like making connections with people, and am interested to hear their stories. I believe in the power and potential of creativity. I like to experience new places and learn new things.

PHILOSOPHY

To be as fully and truly me as I can be, to live so 'in the shelter' of my friendships; and to have lots of adventures along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to experience other cultures through people staying as they get to travel and surf on my 'couch, and I hope at some point I will get to be the 'surfer', maybe on your couch!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had the pleasure of hosting quite a few CSers and so far it has been a great and varied experience. A way of vicariously travelling while also having the opportunity to provide hospitality and a small way into Belfast life.

Interests

I enjoy making things, painting, reading, scuba diving, cooking, lists, travel photography, yoga, and spending time with friends over good food and a glass of red wine or good whisky.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a good novel as well as travel writing and non-fiction; just a few authors I have enjoyed: Shaun Tan, Edward Abbey, Ben Okri, Barbara Kingsolver, Dave Eggers, Annie Dillard, John O'Donohue, Neil Gaiman, Mary Oliver, Khaled Hosseini, Toni Morrison...
I have a wide taste in music, but am not an expert in any specific genre...
I love a good art house movie, and can enjoy a decent action thriller, but I have to confess to also having a high tolerance for 'no thought needed' chick flicks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Peeing in Rongbuk valley (Tibet) at 3am with a full view of a glowing moonlit Mt Everest (at -9 degrees).

Teach, Learn, Share

oh - interested in learning many things, probably even a few things I could share/ teach...but listing them...hmm...
