i love to sit by the river, peaceful and quiet, knowing the goodness. but then i also need to go to the sea, giving myself to its moods, living its phases. at the end its all one anyways...

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain then all,
even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.

for some new delight.

i once smoked a joint with an old egyptian man in front of his house in a rural desert working town at night and he explained me how allah made all the stars and the moon and then asked me whether the moon exists in germany as well
