About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I would tell you, but then I'd have to kill you...
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, but my family is from Jamaica (which makes me 'Jamerican'). I have a huge family and spent most of my childhood sharing one bedroom with 3 siblings, without the means to do much traveling or virtually anything that cost money. So i'm currently 'making up for lost times'...eating 3 meals a day, buying clothing, seeing new places, etc. I'm an urbanite at heart, and I'd like to visit as many cities as possible in my lifetime. But I do love "the great outdoors", especially anything close to a body of water.
Math is my thing, and I love teaching/tutoring others any chance I get. Other interests include spoken word poetry, theater, reading novels/writing stories, frisbee, ping pong, pool, video games, walking EVERYWHERE, running, game nights, philosophical conversations, brain teasers, and dancing (to basically everything). I'm a very energetic person, and I try to stay active everyday.
Personality-wise, I am very friendly and easy-going towards just about everyone. I'm usually laughing or smiling (or both), and I try to make others smile and laugh just as often (i'm partial to puns, but I appreciate and use most kinds of humor). I can be very thoughtful and introverted at times, but i'm secretly very social and would generally prefer to be around good people than to be by myself.
And last but not least...contrary to how much I've written here, I do not like talking about myself much in free form. I'd much rather answer specific questions, or just have a conversation. If you'd like to do either with me, please feel free!
PHILOSOPHY
"Do not ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and then go do it. Because what the world needs are people who have come alive."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd love to host and/or show someone around if given the chance. Not to boast, but I think I make a pretty good tour guide (in fact, I used to be a tour guide at my school).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I've only couch-surfed once through the website, and it was an amazing experience! I needed a place to stay in London for the 2012 Olympic Games, and luckily I found a host, but unluckily she had to cancel on me last minute because of a roommate conflict...
So I found a friend of a friend who hosted me instead, but my original host still kept in touch with me throughout my trip and invited me to watch the opening ceremony with her friends at her place. And when it got late, she still offered me a place to sleep for the night. Ironically, we stayed up talking until 7am, so I didn't sleep at all! But the cultural exchange of our meeting was beyond priceless, and is the true beauty of the couch surfing experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being from NYC, I'm not used to seeing many (if any) stars in the sky. So when I went to the Galapagos and saw every inch of the night sky covered in stars, I must have stared at it for at least an hour.
