ABOUT ME

I am energetic and keen to be involved in the world. I love to laugh and learn about things, and the best way I've found to do both is to spend plenty of time with interesting people! Since I meet so many interesting people traveling I try to do that as much as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life based on respecting others, helping and caring and always trying to find the positive. I crave adventure and challenges and enjoy being with people but am also content alone. I need to explore the world!

All sorts of tea, composing e-mails and letters, listening to music and sometimes even playing the piano and violin (but preferably to octogenarians,) cooking, baking and drink-fixing, going to university to study things that fascinate me.

My favourite books are East of Eden by Steinbeck, The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck and White Noise by Don DeLillo, as well as anything at all by Roald Dahl.
My favourite movies are Love, Actually, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Harold and Maude, Goodbye, Lenin! as well as anything else that can keep me awake until the end.
I'm not particularly fussy about music and just like to listen and get a sense of what other people like to listen to. Here I try to support local music from Canada and in other countries I'll often try to do the same.

I was hiking the Cinqueterre in Italy and my next-door neighbour from my parent's house came around the bend heading the other way. I had no idea she was in Italy and I hadn't seen her in over a year. Sometimes I am confronted with the fact that this world is so large and yet so small!

I think that the best kind of learning is done informally. I'm a university student finishing a double major in Political Science and Human Rights with a double minor in Spanish and Philosophy but the most educational times I've ever had are not in the classroom. There is loads out there I want to learn and I promise to be a keen student!
