About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Save-up and travel to Europe in late 2012.
ABOUT ME
I am quiet until I get to know you a little bit. I love photography, fencing and of course TRAVEL! I love experiencing other cultures and making new friends :) I'm also a little bit of a geek, I like gaming with my friends and I'm a bit of a sci-fi fan :) I love animals, but I'm VERY allergic to guinea pigs :/ I'm not racist or homophobic, I think we all deserve the same opportunities in life :)
PHILOSOPHY
Have fun while you're young (even if you're just young at heart) so you have plenty of memories and no regrets when you are unable to travel later in life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to this. I currently live with my partner Rex, but we're separating in a few months because he's moving away for work, at which point I will definitely have a couch available for tired travellers :) I know that you get tired travelling, taking in so much, and you don't always feel like staying up late chatting with your host. Unless you want to stay up, I'll understand if you just need a good long sleep or quiet time alone :) BUT if you DO want to hang out, I'm happy to show you around Hobart, or we can watch a movie on my stupidly big TV a friend gave me, or play card games, go out to a club or pub, or whatever you feel like. I also hope to have wireless net available :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't had the pleasure of couch surfing yet! BUT I met two lovely French girls who crashed at my partners parents' place a while back, in fact, they told me about couch surfing :) They have had amazing adventures so I hope, when it's my turn, I have some happy adventures too :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm afraid I grew up reading Harry Potter and I refuse to feel bad for liking it :P I like books by journalsts about their experiences as foreign correspondants, the occasional funny or heart warming book. Right now I'm just reading a lot of Lonely Planet guides, journalism books and so on.
I love most music, but I'm not so keen on rap or country music.
I can seriously go from Mozart to Sex Pistols to Nightwish to Loreena McKennitt, no probs :)
Movies... Oh so many! Tim Burton, I love most of his work! I like a movie that makes you think, or a movie that's so good that you find yourself really connecting with the characters. Then again, I don't mind the very occasional mind numbingly stupid, pun-filled comedy. Horror has to be good for me to like it, no cliches thanks ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Navigating a busy market in Jakarta. I survived! (Actually, I was lost for close to an hour and couldn't find the entrance where my friends were waiting. In the end a kind man who spoke a bit of English led me to the entrance, what a relief!)
Teach, Learn, Share
If you're planning a trip to Indonesia, you really don't need to stock up on stuff before you go. There are road side stalls everywhere for brands you'll be familiar with of toothpaste and so on and you'll find it much cheaper.
Contrary to what a lot of people seem to thnk, it is polite to tip people over there.
"Don't frown, you never know who's falling in love with your smile!" (a quote from a bookmark mum gave me in my teens).
