ABOUT ME

Photographer, Teacher, Artist, Professional Foreigner.

I'm traveling SE Asia for a year empowering children through creative education, and working with them to publish a book of their stories, filled with photographic illustrations. Due to a serious inability to pass when it comes to trying new things, I learned that I'm pretty good at playing with things on fire. At times I also train others on performance art, safety, and ethic.

I also like to swing dance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been on many couches in my day from photo touring, performance touring, or just traveling. I've also opened up my couch to just as many. I see lots of new places, I eat lots of different things, I meet lots of different people, and I make secret handshakes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've stuck flaming rods in my mouth with other parts of my body lit afire (on purpose),
I've driven 20 hours with 20 minutes notice,
I've played middle-eastern music drunkenly with romanians until dawn,
I have arm wrestled a drunk Mongolian (who wanted me murdered for being an ancient Roman) in the Gobi desert,
I've Lindy-hopped on the Great Wall of China,
I've held hour long conversations with people of whose language I don't speak a single word...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a fine-art and portrait photographer by trade, so I'd be happy to help you make an awesome portrait or headshot. But be forewarned, I don't take traditional smile shots. I try to make sure everything I do is a little unique teacup in the photography drawer (and often doesn't include smiles).

I'm a fire performer. I can teach you to juggle, spin poi, and if you're brave enough even eat fire!

I also Lindy Hop. I can teach you to cut a rug (you'll get all the ladies, for reals)
