About Me

CURRENT MISSION

no mission

ABOUT ME

conceived in Israel, born in Winnipeg in 1955; lived in Israel and Canada and Israel; left Israel in 1977 for Canada; left good paying job in Vancouver in 1999 to find a place to live in an ecovillage; have visited many ecovillages and retreat centres over the years; for some reason I am still homeless

I like to play Scrabble

I live a healthy and simple lifestyle

I feel good conversation is like a dance with the leading dancer changing with the speaker - one leads (talks) while the other follows (listens); then the roles switch

I do not own a home or rent one; all my possessions fit into a medium-size backpack and a small one and then there is my yoga mat which goes everywhere with me and also my mother's old Scrabble set

PHILOSOPHY

do no harm - ahimsa

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am good at sharing and helping (if help is asked for); very good at doing nothing, but also very good at solving problems

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

stayed in many homes, not as couchsurfer;

Interests

I am a practical philosopher; but I don't philosophize unless invited to do so (I wouldn't want to bore you)

Music, Movies, and Books

Hesse; My Dinner with Andre; A. Huxley; Krishnamurti (J. and U.G.); organic music: Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Rembetiko, world; French cinema; philosophical films; taoism, zen

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

walked silently for peace while in Israel as another Peace Pilgrim;

visited over 50 ecovillages and retreat centres on 4 continents

had probably over 50 jobs and volunteer assignments

Teach, Learn, Share

Sitting quietly
Doing nothing
Spring comes
And the grass grows by itself

- old Chinese poem
