ABOUT ME
I'm a video game software engineer by trade... which means I make your character swing their sword when you push the 'A' button. It's super fun (most of the time), I work with brilliant people, and every day I learn something new.
When I'm not working, I'm adventuring. I'm often traveling or attending strange events (think kinetic sculpture race, roller derby, or water ballet). I generally like life off the beaten path. I tend toward seeking out the obscure and unknown... and then figuring out if there's beer there.
PHILOSOPHY
While I'm strongly opinionated, I'm generally very easy going. I'm slow to anger and quite tolerant. I'm a pretty big fan of people enjoying life the way they'd like as long as they're not imposing upon others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to CS, and look forward to helping make Baltimore a place known for quality couches.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new, though I've met some stellar couch surfers through friends that were hosting.
Interests
Outside of work I spend a fair amount of time tabletop, board and video gaming (in the name of competitive analysis, i assure you!). I'm also regularly found singing karaoke, or enjoying a beverage at a dive bar around town. I've probably ridden my bicycle there. I've also been known to spend Saturday or Sunday morning heading to the establishment with friends to eat breakfast (which includes a Guinness, mind) and watch English Premier League Soccer. It really is a fantastic sport (Go Manchester City!). I also play bass in a musical outfit. I've almost completely given up trying to put it in a genre, but I'll say stoner metal, in case that means anything to you. And while somewhat mundane, I also read a fair bit as well as play soccer and such things that keep me in decent physical shape.
Less regularly (but just as enthusiastically) I can be found at museums, farmers markets, parks, hiking/camping, thrifting, framing strange pictures or artwork, getting tattooed, going to some strange events around town, programming my computer for fun, or shaking it at dance night.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting the The Redwood Forest. I didn't think it would be much more than a bunch of trees, and I ended up being totally floored.
Teach, Learn, Share
So many people seem to be afraid when traveling - especially abroad. Don't be. Instead, use common sense, and keep your wits about you. You'll be fine.
