About Me

I'm a hyper-social dude with a lot of energy and an insatiable wanderlust. I love experiencing new surroundings, food, and people. I'll eat whatever doesn't eat me first, talk to whoever doesn't talk to me first, and sing loudly in public without shame or apology.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe it will allow me to make personal connections with people worldwide in my travels, and because when I have the opportunity I want to accommodate interesting and unique people.

Interests

Too many to keep up with, I love; fishing, camping, backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, singing, playing rudimentary guitar and harmonica, gardening, foraging, hunting (sorry veg's), fitness, and writing (mostly poetry).

Music, Movies, and Books

Grew up on a mix of old blues, jazz, reggae, country and classic rock, but I listen to basically everything. Always ready for Ray Charles, KebMo, Carlos Santana, Bob Marley, Lynyrd-Skynyrd, Guy Clark, Tom Petty, the list goes on and on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent three weeks in Capetown, South Africa doing literally anything my friends would let me do. I sang "I Got A Woman" by Ray Charles with a waiter from Detroit at the overlook on Table Mountain. I had my eyes closed as I sang with him. When the song was over I opened looked up to find that a huge cheering crowd had gathered around us, and a dassie (think giant bad ass hamster) was sitting right next to me trying to steal my pencil.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anything you have to teach me I want to learn! I once bought a book on how to play bass, I don't play bass....yet! Anything you want to learn from me I am happy to give. I know enough about fishing and the wild that I probably hold the record for outdoor store job offers.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An outgoing personality, a unique view on life, and I'm usually a good story teller. Also a free place to stay......so yeah!
