Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My family immigrated from South Africa to the U.S. when I was young and my parents constantly had friends and family from all over the world staying at our house. I grew up with the mindset that room could always be made for more people. As I have grown older, I have realized that it is easy to become insular and isolated from the people around you. Rather than drift into routine and potential solitude, I want to keep opening my life to the wonderful people that I may not have had the chance to meet yet.
