ABOUT ME

I'm in the process of learning about myself, but what I know so far.... I value respect. I give it when I receive it. I'm a reader. I majored in English in college because it gave me an excuse to read a ton. I dig writing. I've penned a few poems and short stories. Now, I'm trying to get out there to create a long story for myself. I'm not religious, but I'll say I'm spiritual. I have practiced Buddhism and still identify strongly with the ideologies of Buddhist thought. I've found that I'm easily liked by most people. I guess I just have a genuine quality about me that makes me accessible to many different personality types. I'm always down for doing something new and exciting. My personal motto is "You don't regret the things you did, you regret the things you didn't do." I look forward to meeting you and partying 'til after the sun rises.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is a big place and my time is limited. So, I gotta get to work if I'm gonna see everything I need to see. There's no time like the present so I live in the moment and I value every day I'm given.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm traveling and staying on some couches trying to spread the word about CS. I'm building my couchsurfing karma for when the day comes when I have a couch to offer...hopefully in Argentina or Brazil or some other exotic South American Location.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed on couches in what I consider to be the biggest and most interesting cities in the US. Although I was not officially CouchSurfing, I have stayed with people in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, Tampa, New Orleans and Athens, OH and Athens, GA. I had a ball in all the BIG cities and would recommend any and all of them. Chicago and San Fran. are the most inviting though.

Interests

Writing prose and poetry, reading anything, Jazz, teaching, building, Ultimate Frisbee, soccer, learning, local scenes, off the radar locations, camping, hiking, exploring, being.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh boy. Some day I'll properly fill this section in, but in the mean time... Beat Literature is great, Hemingway is unbeatable, I dig magical realists like Garcia Marquez, and sooo much more its crazy.

Music is good. I like Jazz a lot. Reggae. Classic rock is good. Most new music is shit, but there is some good stuff out there if you're willing to take the time to look for it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once in Arizona I was hiking alone inside of a canyon and I decided that it would be a good idea to climb on of the canyon walls. I got pretty high up. Probably higher than I had any business being with no ropes or gear of any kind. Then I had to get down and in trying to do so I found myself hanging by one hand onto a rock that jutted out over nothing. I was just dangling there with nowhere to go while the adrenaline pumped through me. Somehow I managed to swing myself over to a ledge where I was able to collect myself before finishing the decent. I think I got pretty lucky that day to have escaped that bad decision with just a few cactus scrapes.
