Sobre mí

I got locked out of my old profile. Please check it out as reference: www.couchsurfing.com/jcs_ph

I started traveling at a very young age with my family and relatives going to the beach every summer. After high school, I discovered solo traveling to different parts of the country and beyond.

I seek adventures and I do not mind challenges and pressures when I'm on the road. Getting lost in an unfamiliar place and interacting with strangers are some of the things I truly enjoy. I like deep conversations where statements are taken with open minds with no judgment, and beliefs are not forced down into someone's throat.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I surf and I host. I also attend CS gatherings abroad whenever I can. I give a glimpse of local way of living in my country. I like going into conversations so my hosts or my surfers can better understand the Filipino culture and history.

Música, películas y libros

I watch Tarantino, Nolan, Hitchcock, Lee, Aronofsky, Kar-wai and Brocka. I read Grisham, Rice, Brown, Lewis, Martin and Rowling. I prefer to watch and read pieces that make me ask questions and those that are eloquently done that I am entertained. I listen to different genres of music, depending on my mood.

Algo increíble que he hecho

- Visited Dhulikhel in Nepal and stayed with an old Nepalese lady and her grandson the whole afternoon right after celebrating the Holi festival with the locals;

- Took a ten-hour train ride in Sri Lanka on first class then transferred coach and never got bored with the amazing views and the friendly locals;

- Hiked in Montenegro from Kotor to Cetinje through the Lovcen National Park, unplanned and on a whim, during my three-week trip in the Balkans;

-Saw the amazing landscapes in Uyuni, Bolivia;

-Sat on a bench with good friends looking at Machu Picchu and appreciating the fact that we have gone a long way (figuratively and literally!) enjoying how good it is to live. This, after realizing that I was so wrong to think that Machu Picchu was overrated;

-Booked a flight to Labuan Bajo from Bali the night before and stayed the next day in a boat for 4 straight days to see Flores’ amazing islands and wildlife — Komodo dragons and Manta rays.
