ABOUT ME

I am a very open person who loves to experience new things. The last 4 years of my life have been filled with school. I just graduated from nursing school and am taking a few months off before I start work. My friend Jeannie and I are going to spend 4 weeks traveling around Europe! I can't wait! After our trip I will be moving to Portland Oregon and will hopefully be working the in intensive care unit. In a couple years I really would like to do Doctor's Without Borders and be able to help those most in need.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just heard about CS2 and so far it seems to be right up my alley. While in Europe I would love to meet lots of new people and experience the different cultures to their fullest. It seems that CS2 would be an excellent way to do this. When I do move to Portland and get a place I would greatly enjoy hosting. I plan on learning as much about Portland as possible so I can be an excellent host and show people around the area!

Interests

My interests include photography, any kind of dancing, making and eating good food, singing, discovering new music, and meeting new people. I also recently took a pottery class and loved it. New hobbies include climbing (just bought some climbing shoes and a harness the other day!) and biking everywhere! I will be going to Switzerland in August and can't wait to do some hiking/climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

All kinds of music! Reggae! Some favorites include Dezaire, Bon Iver, Coldplay, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Ari Hest, Corienne Baily Rae, and Kings of Leon. I love historical fiction books and my current favorites are A Thousand Splendid Suns and A Long Way Gone. I love watching foreign films, especially ones in Spanish with English subtitles so I can try and just listen and practice my Spanish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Explored a pitch black cave in Guatemala with only a head lamp, seeing pots and skeletons of those who have come before us, sat in silence unable to see my hand in front of my face.
