I returned in June 2014 from about a year and a half spent living abroad.
I had left in February 2013 to Central America to visit my family in Panama and to volunteer as an accompanying adult on an educational travel expedition/intercultural exchange in Costa Rica (Kepri Expeditions). I also lead an expedition to the Chirripó Grande (3820m), the country high point. Cerro Chirripó is ranked 37th worldwide for its prominence.
After, I went to Nepal and lead a mountaineering expedition in the Langtang Valley - I was missing the Himalayas... We made a summit attempt of the Tsergo Ri (4984m) by the north face (unchartered pathway, level difficult). But this expedition was only an appetizer for the ones I would be doing in India.
To get permission to access to high peaks in the national parks in India, you need to be a certified mountaineer. Therefore, I did in April/May 2013 my first mountaineering training on Indian soil at the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) and in April/May of 2014, I completed the advance course, which is the requirement to do so.
In June 2013, I moved to an ashram in South India, where I have completed a 21-weeks Classical Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Certificate, under the guidance of a living master and yogi. I spent a total of 8 months at the ashram to volunteer and to participate to a range of programs and activities.
In June 2014, after having completed the advance mountaineering course, I got back to Montreal City, and rapidly started to organize Hatha Yoga workshops in Montreal and Toronto.
Before this long stay abroad, I was working for Rivers Foundation, an environmental group based in Montreal, first as a researcher/communication assistant, then as the manager/coordinator.
I also have many years of experience as a camera operator and DOP. I worked over a number of projects also in different positions.
I am a pragmatic. I love to meet new people and explore the unfamiliar.
