ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly, curious, and spontaneous guy. I love seeing new places and making new friends, and reconnecting with old ones. I don't like to let life pass me by, so I take advantage of every amazing opportunity that I can. I'm often off on some new adventure, but I'm equally content enjoying a peaceful moment back at my childhood home in rural Iowa -- maybe a bonfire with friends, or sitting out on our patio sipping whiskey (always Templeton Rye) and enjoying the sunset over our prairie.

Time with friends: whether that be videogames, frisbee, a hike on a new trail, biking, or going out for a couple drinks. Perfect landscape, sunset, and sky panorama photography. Scuba diving (just got certified!). Archaeologically and historically significant sites. Spaceflight. Roadtrips. Music (always looking for something new).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

First time I reeaally saw the night sky. Slept outside in northern Tanzania. No light pollution, just every star in the sky.

Solo climbing the Chillkoot Trail in the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park near Skagway, Alaska. Every bend had a new view over the alpine forests and vivid blue glaciers. Met a bear.

Finishing RAGBRAI (look it up) every summer in Iowa. The sense of accomplishment and thrill of the downhill coast to the Mississippi is tough to beat. I still need to listen to the 1812 Overture while doing this though.
