About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hosting Couchsurfers from new places around the world.

ABOUT ME

Full-time Virtual Science educator, herbalist, and director of a local environmental non-profit. I enjoy being outdoors, being active, and going on mini adventures. I like to grow food and herbs, cook, sprout things and make fermented foods like kombucha and sauerkraut. I usually have something strange and exotic to try when guests arrives. Either something I made or an edible plant or fruit from my garden you've never tried or heard of before.

I'm always working on projects so feel free to join in if you have time!

PHILOSOPHY

Make a difference right now. Be the change you want to see. Be the hero you've been waiting for. I do my best volunteering in community groups and building a strong, resilient community here in Orlando.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll be hosting mostly but do plan to travel later this year. I prefer hosting a few people at a time, but I also take single requests as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have hosted guests from China, Taiwan, Germany, and a few from the US. I enjoy hosting travelers from around the world and so far, I've learned a lot as well. All my guests have been awesome and I still keep in touch with all of them.

Interests

I'm the Executive Director of a local non-profit called Orlando Permaculture. Our motto is "We grow minds, community, and food. We host monthly meetings and action events and workshops. We also work on permaculture design projects to help build resilient, sustainable communities that rely more on local food, personal skills, and community barter and trade.

I enjoy being active outdoors- hiking, kayaking, beach, camping, biking. I also enjoy the city life as well- local restaurants, food and art festivals, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like rock music but can pretty much listen to anything. Most books I read are non-fiction about philosophy, science, gardening, and marketing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started a non-profit organization

Teach, Learn, Share

I am currently learning and absorbing everything I can about permaculture and herbalism. Currently, I have a highly productive yard filled with organic veggies, herbs, and some fruit. My home is 100% solar-powered and I do strange things (by American standards) like wash my clothes with special berries and cleaning my dishes with a luffa sponge I grew in my yard. I try my best to make my home a truly unique and educational/mind-expanding experience at the same time!

I'm always looking for new experiences and a life long learner. That is why I love having guests from around the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, herbs, teas from the garden and cooking skills.

Countries I’ve Visited
