About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eastern Europe Excursion Planning!

ABOUT ME

Last summer I was married in Oregon, which is where my wife grew up. I also lived there for several years. I truly love Oregon and miss it as we have moved to Tennessee to be close to family.

Our house is located on the foothills of the Appalachian mountains and we just started mountain biking to take advantage of them. We also like to go skiing, rafting, and anything else outdoors.

I like to relax at home and watch a good movie on cold winter days like we've been having recently. I don't have any particular genre or type of movie preference, but just like to get cozy on my couch! I have recently been watching some of Rick Steves' Europe to try and learn more about traveling and any tips.

As I said before, I do like to get outdoors, so I'm getting a garden started this spring. I will be growing some of the food I use to be more environmentally friendly and reduce my carbon footprint. It would also be a challenge as I have never done this before.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone has something to share and I am willing to learn. Everyone also has a unique point of view about things and people. These two combined create great learning experiences when meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The cultural experience will be fantastic! Getting an "insider's" point of view and not simply going through with a tour group on my travels will be very rewarding. Also, I hope to dispel any myths about "ugly" americans and try to help improve the image of our country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a newcomer to this and am just starting out, so my experience is zero as of now. I do hope to take adavantage of this experience as well as allow anyone into my home in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee.

Interests

Mountain biking, skiing, rafting, hiking, movies, and any gathering of people for events.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now my wife and I saw "He's Just Not That Into You". It was a very insightful and funny look into the male psyche during dating and how women react. I absolutely recommend this movie to all the single people out there.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing thing I have ever seen was Hawaii. I lived in Hawaii as a teenager for about three years and loved it! Hopefully, my life travels will take me back there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have knowledge in accounting. I'm not sure if anyone out there REALLY wants to learn more...but I thought I'd start with my work experience. I am a beginner handyman and might have a few tips to share. Please be aware that I am a BEGINNER, but do know a thing or two!
I have mediocre skills at cooking and have quite a few handy cookbooks and can share home cooking "Southern Style"!
