CURRENT MISSION

To travel! I want to see as much of the world as I can while I'm still young!! I'm a surfing and snowboarding nut and these sports take me to far out places which I love and want to continue doing.

ABOUT ME

Where to start? well, my name's Tom. I was born and raised in the UK and have travelled a lot across the UK. I love to travel and experience new things. I'm a little bit of a surfing and snowboarding nut which means I travel around trying to find the warmest beach or the coldest mountain! But I love that, I love the fact that two of my sports are of that travelling nature. Being a surfer means travelling to those far out places that no bugger knows and experiencing life off the beaten track, away from the hustle and bustle of main tourist attractions and out on your own in some amazing places that leads to an experience few will ever feel. I suppose that's what I'm all about when it comes to travel. I can't stand the typical 'tourist' culture of visiting all the museums seeing the sights and experiencing 'tourists France' or 'tourists Spain'. If I'm going to go somewhere I want to throw myself into the culture and see the real side of it. I currently live in Auckland as part of an exchange program for 6 months and then I will be back in the UK for a year before going off on a years travel to Austria, Canada and Bali.

that's how I try to live my life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am looking to travel more and more as I come out of my teens into my 20's and so I will be looking to experience more and more new places so I guess I'll be needing guides! Also, wherever and whenever I possibly can I'll be looking at help out people as much as I can with local know ledge of areas or crashing on my couch (providing I own one at the time!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never done couch surfing before, the closest I came to it was when a french couple invited me to stay in their home with a friend of mine when we were surfing France. Which was great, they were really nice and all they asked for in return was some surfing knowledge on which beaches would work best around the area. well I say they I mean more the husband!

Interests

I'm a sporty guy so I coach Football (soccer), Badminton and I surf, snowboard and will pretty much try my hand at any sports you throw at me. I also, being a guy, love my food and love trying new things and cooking new things.
