Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Jeffrey, and I am from Houston, Texas, USA. I was born in Calgary, Canada, and am currently studying Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. I'm chasing that M.D., so I don't have a whole ton of time to do things that I love, such as reading, playing the cello, playing football, and binge watch shows (except on breaks, of course!), but I still find (make) time to work out, explore my environment, and be involved in organizations at my university. This summer (2018) is one of the only times where I not only have time to explore Europe as opposed to doing research, but also to learn from other cultures. I'm also a huge proponent of memes. Just sayin'.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There's so many cultures and different types of people that I've never met before and connected with. I like to think that I am well-rounded, but there is always room for improvement. That's what Couchsurfing is for-connecting with people and learning about their experiences, cultures, and customs.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a fan of anything that sounds good to my ears. If it's country and I like it, then I like it (many people hate country here in the states). If it's pop, rap, alternative, rock, etc., etc., and I like it, I like it. Period.
My favorite movies jump around. It literally almost always changes after I watch a new one. Currently, it's Get Out because I literally just watched it and it blew my mind.
I don't have much time for reading books I actually enjoy so currently it's Campbell Biology, 10th Edition. Haha, I'm just joking :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking onto the varsity (American) football team senior year thinking I was going to be a starter. I was more like third string backup, but I worked hard through the season to eventually start my last game at cornerback. If you're not a sports fan, this is sportsball!
A more interesting fact is that I've done undergraduate research since the summer of my freshman year of college and we have identified a cause for metastasis of triple negative breast cancer and potentially a method of treating it. If you don't know what I just said, this is science!
A fact that everyone can understand is that I went on a public health brigade trip to Nicaragua to help build sanitary stations (toilets and shower) and concrete floors for the people there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you biology-been a TA for college biology since the second semester of my freshman year. Will be a TA for high school biology at Johns Hopkins after my trip in Europe.
There's literally so much to learn. Every person is special and I want to learn literally anything and everything from you.
I can share my experiences. I try to find humor in my life from the good and the bad, so I might have a few anecdotes :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell you everything you need to know about Houston and a couple of attractions and places to eat.
As for me traveling, I can share with you my experiences and bad jokes. I can also cook!!
