About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy living in Australia

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the woods of Maine (USA), then spent many years in the big American cities of New York, Philadephia and Boston.

I'm now a bit split personality, I seem to spend half my time living in big crowded hip cities and the other half chilling on the lake in Maine.

I've done a fair amount of traveling over the years. In 2007 for six months I did a bit of a world tour. SE asia, australia, NZ and a bit of europe.

I loved Australia during my travels and pledged to move down there. For 4 years I've been living in a sweet house a few mins walk from Bondi beach. Let me know when you're coming to Sydney!

PHILOSOPHY

I've been very lucky in life and I try to give back on a very direct level, person to person. CS helps me do this by hosting travelers and offering true hospitality! I believe sharing is one of life's main purposes and sharing my city and house is a good start.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Regularly host and surf, CS parties and BBQs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Probably hosted 25 times, and surfed half a dozen.

Interests

Sailing and Cabrewing. I really enjoy hiking and camping and try to go about once a month for a weekend when the weather is nice! I've got a 4x4 which is great for exploring the remote areas outside melbourne. If you're keen to go hiking let me know!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Literally running up a mountain on the routeburn track in NZ. We we're trying to get to the summit and back and had to run to make it in time. A crazy thing to do but made me feel so alive. We got to the top in time but clouds had rolled in. Luckily my French climbing partner needed a cigarette and by the time he finished the clouds had blown away and it felt like you could see the whole world.
