ABOUT ME

Hi,

My name is Josafa. I am Brazilian, 33 years old and I have invested most of my life on education. I have just graduated as a PhD in computer science from Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT), Japan. I love being able to talk with nice people via foreign languages. Currently, I can speak French, Japanese, English, Portuguese and Spanish. If your mother tongue is any of them, feel free to talk to me using your mother language. We can also talk in a language that you are learning or want to learn. I really love languages and I am willing to help you to improve your communication skills in any of these languages. I would also like to learn a bit from you in case you are not a native Portuguese speaker like me :)

PHILOSOPHY

As any human being, we all need to be happy. Happiness is a state that is manifested when we do things that please us. Finding what pleases our heart is the key to stay happy. It may be a result of simple thing or something big. Most of the time we deal with simple things and there's plenty of joy when we are able to take advantage of the simple things to be happy, such as appreciating nature, the melody of a beautiful song, the capacities of our own body, the outcome of our work, a good talk with a friend, and so on.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new in here. I am planning to do both surfing and hosting here. From July 13th to October 12th (2011) I will be in Europe. During this time, I will be visit ing several European cities and I plan to do some couch surfing there. The cities I am planning to visit are: Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brighton, London, Marseille, Brussels, Venice, Prague, Berlin, Geneve, Mykonos, Athens and Corse.
After I am back to Brasilia, Brasil, I plan to start hosting couch surfers in my apartment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a good European friend who recently introduced me couch surfing. His brother has experienced couch surfing once and he liked it. I also heard from an Ecuatorian friend about a classmate who has surfed.
However, I haven't had this experience yet because I am a new comer.
