We believe life is to be lived to the fullest and so we are doing just that. Since 2007 we have been working and living all over the world with our 3 kids. We school them online and with a combination of real world experiences. Who wants to learn from a textbook when you can go in person to discover the real thing!

We are professional, no-drama people. We have property managed for everything from a tiny RV to an enormous mansion full of priceless antiques. We (and our kids!) know how to maintain an care for a property in order to leave it in the condition we found it or better.

We are the type of people to relax over a good book after a "hard" day exploring art museums, science centers, historical places or just strolling the neighborhood and parks. When home our kids are often on electronics or reading or drawing or doing other low-key activities. When they need exercise, we head out to explore and play. We love nature!

Both Dan and Jen have been business consultants for years. Right now Dan still works and Jen educates the kids, plays amateur travel planner and blogger, and creates art.

P.S. While we are only fully fluent in English, we are working on it! Our kids study French and Spanish and Dan and I studied them in school, in addition to Russian. We are very rusty but look forward to gaining more skills. So please either correspond in English or forgive our poor translations. :-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We prefer to stay in local places and to meet local people. We are open to as much or little contact as you like. If you want it to be just a business transaction, that is fine. But we'd love to connect as friends if you're open to that too. We like a mix of airbnb, couchsurfing, and house sitting because it helps us have a more authentic local experience and lets us meet the neighbors. We just love having friends all around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I grew up in a house where my friends were welcome to crash any time, and the whole neighborhood called my mom "Mom". So I love the idea of hosting and surfing as a way to meet interesting people! (Or, if you prefer, we can just use your couch and pretend you don't exist...) While we are just beginning to start couchsurfing through the site, we've done it offline for years, hosting people and staying with others we've connected with through various travel groups. We also have professional property management experience, so we've "surfed" at a bunch of those properties too. We're trustworthy. We promise!

We also have been teaching people how to start and grow businesses for over 10 years as we are passionate about helping others retire early. We're happy to discuss for free, and can talk your ear off about how we live the way we do ...how we pay for this life, how we educate our kids, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can whip up gourmet meals, give an art lesson, or share song or good conversation. Lots of great travel stories if you've got an interest. Glad to help with tech questions. Jen can even do some childcare if that helps seal the deal!
