About Me

Half Korean born and raised in the West of Scotland.

I've spent the last ten years moving around a lot, and recently decided to come back to the west coast of Scotland to pursue studies.

I enjoy experiencing everywhere, everything and everyone!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been a member of Couchsurfing since 2005, and so have seen the website grow and evolve in various different ways. Certainly nowadays there is a more social aspect to it, as opposed to being a place strictly to search for couches. This I really like as it has helped me to establish friendships when moving to cities all over the world.
I have both surfed with and hosted a variety of people over the years, and every experience has been positive and a lot of fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

All sorts of music, really! Hip hop, funk, soul, techno, house, bassline, dnb, jungle, metal, chart/pop, etc... I also like hearing folk styles from different places (you cannae beat a bit of Korean techno-trot)

Books: Some of my favourites are by Marina Lewycka, Haruki Murakami, Franz Kafka, Bill Bryson, Irvine Welsh, F Scott Fitzgerald, Milan Kundera, Sylvia Plath, Khaled Hosseini.

I enjoy reading a lot. A small list of favourites thats spring to mind - 1984 by George Orwell, Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Manufacturing Consent by Noam Chomsky, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, Lolita by Vladimir Nobokov

I watch a lot of documentaries and everyone tells me I should watch more films, so that's something I'm working on. Up for suggestions!
