To experience the 9-5 life
quiet, ridiculous, cynically optimistic, and full of awesome :)
I studied fine arts, traveled a bunch, worked a bunch, and find myself at a cross road - a third life crisis of sorts?
If you're meeting me along the road, likely you will meet my trusty travel buddy, Carol. We've been bumbling around the world together for some years now. If we ever had to do the Amazing Race - minus all the strategy and physical activities - we would so have it in the bag.
"Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself. Mankind. Basically, it's made up of two separate words --- "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind."
-Jack Handley (nods)
"Strangers are friends you have yet to meet."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to rope my unsuspecting friends into the wonderful world of couchsurfing.
I marked my first Couchsurfing experience 8+ years ago, on my 21st birthday, cruising around Los Angeles in a red hot convertible. I've been hooked since. Good times.
adventures, snowboarding, rock climbing, photo booths, photography, art, good weather, good light, documentaries, cheese, fresh laundry, having data when I'm traveling, and ridiculously cheap airfare.
Music, Movies, and Books
David Sedaris, The Little Prince and Worst Case Scenerio guides.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent 2 months traveling across Canada by bus after graduation.
Seeing the desert in Arizona for the first time really knocked my socks off.
Ice climbing in the Yukon.
Watching the sunset over the Nile on a felucca.
Cruising in a red convertible around LA.
Rooster fights, hammocks, and 50 cent Nica Libras in Nicaragua.
Camping around the Big Island of Hawai'i.
One too many in Vegas.
Camel touring in the Sahara desert.
Making home made lamb tajine in Morocco.
Eating and drinking copiously in France & Spain.
Facebook-ing from a hot air balloon ride in Turkey.
3 generational family reunion in Hong Kong.
Home during the Vancouver Olympic gold medal hockey game.
And... Meeting all you special peoples - for serious!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been told I find ridiculously cheap travel, so I try to help when I can. I'm queen at the Vancouver to Seattle transportation game.
Born and raised in Vancouver, I have a really vast and odd collection of interesting spots in Vancouver I can share with you.
