A tad unsettled at the moment maybe, but generally a kind of outdoorsy animal lover type.

PHILOSOPHY

Its a beautiful world and we only get one shot at it. Make it count. If you want something, make it happen. Enjoy your work and do it as well as you possibly can, whatever it is. Treat people as you would like to be treated. There is no excuse for discourtesy- ever. Expect the best of people and that is what you will almost always get. There is no bad day that cannot be greatly improved by taking the dogs for a long walk.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to meet for coffee and tell you how to get around the valley or where to go for a hike. If you are interested in night life I could hook you up with people who would be able to tell you all about it, but I've got no expertise in that area. I'm hoping to couch surf with people who share some of my interests, and will be able to point me towards some of the best places in their area for hiking, bird watching, and photography.

Some all time favorite books: Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Plainsong by Kent Haruf, Birds Without Wings by Louis De Bernieres, A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole.
I like almost all kinds of music, especially blues, Sonia Dada, Mozart, Bob Dylan, classic rockn'roll. No hip hop or rap.
Movies I've intentionally watched more than once: Gone With the Wind, As Good as it Gets, Lonesome Dove, Corelli's Mandolin

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Costa Rica was definitely amazing- every single bird or animal I saw was new to me- wow! It was also very cool looking out our huge plate glass window at night, head still on the pillow, watching sparks of lava on Mt Arenal.

I can show you the best hiking places around here, depending on what you are looking for, I do a lot of photography, and I could tell you a bit about the flora and fauna of my area.
I would love to stay with someone or have someone stay here who would let me practice my Spanish.
