My husband, Ben Thomas, and I recently put our careers on hold to travel the world for awhile. We are pursuing freelance opportunities in writing and photography while on the road, but we're mostly just traveling and trying to take in the culture of whichever spot we happen to be. We're living the nomad lifestyle for the moment!

I don't really consider myself a writer yet, but I'm working on it. My parents and friends have been telling me since I was a kid that I should be a writer, and maybe traveling around the world will be a good enough story to write down.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love to meet locals in every place we go. I consider couchsurfing a great way to get to know the locals' way of life and become part of the community for a short time. I am really eager to learn as much as I can about a place and getting to know the locals is the best way to do that!

Interests

I love hiking, photography, animals, trying coffee in new places, listening to live music, and reading. I have had a lifelong love affair with reading and can usually be found with my nose in a book--curling up with a book and a cup of coffee is my favorite possible way to spend an afternoon.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We road-tripped around Iceland, driving the circumference of the whole country in eight days. It was absolutely beautiful and we can't wait to go back!

Somehow my philosophy always comes back to the same few quotes by E.E. Cummings:
