ABOUT ME

I'm in my third (whoops...) year as a Graduate student at the University of Montana. I've always loved school, it's a great atmosphere. However it is time for change. I've been in college for seven years and need a break. I have finished my internship in Kristiansand, Norway after one month of traveling with friends. I have been living up in the cold dark Tromsø for the last two months. Erik proposed and we are getting hitched this summer!

PHILOSOPHY

I've learned I cannot succeed alone. I'm also trying this personal growth thing, to try to become a more peaceful, social, well rounded, but smaller sized Jenna. I want to simplify my life. Most things can be easy if you let them be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I sublet my room for two months and had to couch surf for three weeks because I came back sooner than I thought I would. I stayed mostly with friends during that time. I considered that brief training for my trip to Europe. We stayed with four friends in three countries on our one month trip. We visited seven countries.

Interests

Camping, hiking, skiing, geocaching, spelunking (caving), floating, rivers, lakes, hot springs, sky diving, flying... anything new exciting, and unknown... I like adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Unless it's a local band, or growing band--music should be extremely cheap, if not free. My music collection is extremely random because of this philosophy.
As for books, my reading has been quite limited due to being a graduate student. Most of my reading comes from Journals such as Crime and Deviance, Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency, American Journal of Sociology....
Movies--I'm a lover of movies. I worked in a Movie Theater/Drive In for several several years. I couldn't possibly give you a favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one???

I have seen an entire community pull together and lift up my family after the loss of my little brother.

I have traveled to Costa Rica working to help save sea turtles, and plant trees in the rain forest.

I have gone skydiving. No words to explain that freedom.

I have traveled through Europe to see many of the friends I've made, but I still have a thousand places left to go.

Because I have fallen in love with a Norwegian, I'm doing an internship in Kristiansand Norway at the University of Agder. Even though we are over a thousand miles apart, at least we'll be in the same country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love listening to people. I love storytellers, you know who you are. You keep me entranced in your stories and I can't help but listen, especially if you are making me laugh. I love hearing about other people's lives; their joys, their beliefs, their pains, their secrets and their hardships. I especially love interviewing. I love the transition from reluctance to participate, and their preconceived notions of bias and judgment— to the relief in their eyes, when they realize at the end of the interview, that somebody really cared to listen to them… you have to feel it to understand it.
