About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make lasting connections and fill my time here with as much knowledge and joy as I can
ABOUT ME
I am an adventurous, easy going, fun- loving, all that cheesy stuff kind of girl. I guess you could say I'm pretty Canadian in the way that I'm here for a great time, but don't want to step on anybody's toes:) I have been a hairdresser for 9 or so years, and have been lucky enough to travel for shows and education a fair amount in my career. I love my job and I am really thankful for the time it and traveling has given me to talk to many different kinds of people and gain many different perspectives on life. That, above all else, is my favourite reason for travel.
PHILOSOPHY
Do what you do. Who knows whats out there, we are all human doing what we think is best at the time. Just don't hate or push on others and its all good to me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a full-time backpacker/ gypsy at the moment, so I have been surfing couches for a Little bit now... can´t host, but if I ever go home I would love to! Also, being a hairdresser... I always have my tools, and love being able to pay back my hosts with a haircut.. such a good way to get to know people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far... just incredible. Everyone has been so friendly, and so different, I feel like I learn someting new everytime, and it allows me to get out of that ´travellers bubble´and connect with locals, which I just love. I am constantly overwhelmed by the kindness of strangers in this world. What a great organization!
Interests
In no particular order- hair, art, beauty, rain, sunny beaches, open conversations about anything, stained glass, yoga, mildly exotic food, trying things that scare me (or at least something new) often, laughing at everything (sarcasm in particular is my sweet spot), dancing (not that i'm any good), running, tea

Music, Movies, and Books
Any music with a good beat, I'm in, but special love for blues/rock. LOVE pretty much all concerts/ music festivals. Any movies except horror movies...a girl living/ traveling on her own needs to sleep after all. Finally...I hate to sound noncommittal, but I don't even have a book preference. I love reading biographies, books on natural healing and spiritual growth, but most of all books with characters I can lose myself in for hours.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got to spend a day climbing a volcano, jumping off a boat and swimming up to natural hot springs, then riding a donkey up the side of a cliff to watch the most beautiful sunset in Santorini, Greece. I could repeat that day forever.
....was my old answer! And though it still stands... the more I travel the harder time I have picking just one amazing moment. Greece? Amazing. India? Incredible, eye opening, confidence building. Egypt? My biggest childhood dream fulfilled... The longer I live the more amazing things get and I hope that never changes.
Teach, Learn, Share
to be honest, I'm really not sure what skills I could teach... but I always bring my scissors with me, so I can offer haircuts! Most of my experience working has been in the retail/beauty world, so it would be great to connect with some people who may be able to show me more practical skills or how to work with the earth
