About Me
Hi!
Im a masters student at Brock University, in St Catharines Ontario. I study feminist geographies and am a huge nerd about it. I have been extremely busy (and broke!) because of school, but I am hoping to take a break and do a bit of traveling this summer.
I like travelling to cities and just walking them. I like urban landscapes, art museums, local music scenes, yummy hole-in-the-walls, markets, bustling streets... I like early mornings and late nights. I like meeting new people but also enjoy doing lots of things on my own.
I also sometimes enjoy quieter trips that are more outdoor oriented, hiking, and just enjoying sun and being away from the bustling.
I had a couchsurfing account years ago, hosted people and also stayed with people in NYC, Montreal, and a few other places on the east coast of USA. I live in downtown St. Catharines, but I'm close to lots of tourist spots like Niagara Falls, Niagara On The Lake, etc... so even when I haven't been able to host people, there are still lots of couch surfers that I've met up with or helped find things to do that suit them. But unfortunately I disabled the email account I had hooked up to it so I don't have any of my stats - feel free to check in with me about any questions! I am very low maintenance, friendly, quiet, and very considerate!
Hosting - My space is very small, I live alone with no pets and don't smoke. The living space is slightly divided up, a semblance of privacy, but fairly open concept (no door on my bedroom, and a window between the bedroom and living room). I have a couch that is pretty comfortable (and long for the tall peeps!) And a small airmattress. So I have enough space for 2, but its tight living. Depending on the time of year and my schedule, I am a "maybe" for hosting. But I am always down to give recommendations or chat with you about your visit
Please don't hesitate to check in with me and chat!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Its important to participate in and show the world that radical trust and generosity are possible, wonderful things!
I think it is important to normalize and participate in sharing and exchanging economies. Sharing, caring, community economies are made even better when they include international exchange, getting to know other people and cultures.
And to be honest, as a student sometimes Couchsurfing is the only way I get the opportunity to travel. I think this is a wonderful way for people to have the opportunity to go places that would otherwise be inaccessible to them.
Best way to travel is to meet locals! I like to travel solo and its nice to be able to check in with someone locally, for safety as well as to hear about what they love about their city.
I also like to meet people who are traveling to my city!
