I am currently working for an accounting firm as a Senior Financial Crime Consultant, slowly scraping my way through the CPA Exams and halfway through my MSA program at Grand Valley. I grew up in California and moved to Michigan about five years ago to finish my degree, and have stayed since I landed an awesome job.

I like to think I am a pretty down to earth person. I enjoy meeting new people and I love a good conversation as well as listening to stories or experiences people have had.

I went on a road-trip with my friend during the summer of 2015 and was introduced to CouchSurfing. I thought it would be a much more fulfilling trip if we met and stayed with locals in the cities we will be exploring. Since then, I have stayed on Couchsurfing because I have met some of the most interesting and coolest people while travelling and I really enjoy the atmosphere of sharing culture and friendship with fellow Couchsurfers.

兴趣

This might sound nerdy, but I enjoy learning new skills and random bits of information. I watch TedTalks often and have a goal of eventually watching them all. I like how I can learn a huge amount of information about a currently developing topic/concept in only twenty or so minutes.

I am also interested in reading. I am currently in the process of reading through the Game of Thrones series (on book 5!). I discovered Overdrive so lately I have been listening to a lot of books while travelling for work. From this year I've most enjoyed "Thud" by Terry Pratchett and "Astrophysics for People in a Hurry" by Neil DeGrasse Tyson. I am also slowly reading "Harry Potter: a l'Ecole des Sorciers" as a way to improve my French.

I love dogs. I have one Yorkshire Terrier and two elder ones living in my heart. Cats are cool.. kittens are just ridiculous. I have always dreamed of having a turtle...

I grew up playing sports so they deserve to have a place in my interests as well. Softball, basketball and soccer are the ones I grew up playing the most. Baseball, hockey, and basketball are my top three favorites to watch live. I also enjoy doing random activities like bowling, handball, hacky sack, and Frisbee golf.

I like all types of music and I really enjoy when people make me discover new music! Lately I have been listening to instrumental chill-out music since I could have that playing while working/studying.

I don't have one favorite movie, but I generally enjoy movies that make me laugh. When I have time I usually end up watching Netflix series' like Black Mirror and The Crown. I was a little late on the GoT train since I read the series and was holding out for the last book (which is going to be 600 pages describing the snow blowing over the graves of every single character named, I just know it) and various documentaries. I also enjoy watching older series like Babylon 5, Farscape, and X-Files.

I've always been one of those kids who asks "why" all the time when growing up. Age hasn't changed this, only now I have the internet and school has taught me, among other things, how to find my answers on my own. The result: I have a lot of random knowledge. Chances are if we get to talking I will pull some fact, statistic, or explanation out of seemingly nowhere. It happens.

Besides that, I know English pretty well. I haven't taken an English class in a number of years, but I would be glad to help out or share the knowledge I do have with fellow couch surfers.
