About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Nearing the end of my 3+ years of travelling abroad. I have explored 23 countries in this time and I'm happy to have finally gotten around to exploring some of Europe. I am hoping to get local perspectives, tastes of new cultures, and meet new people.

ABOUT ME

I am a primary school teacher trained in Canada but most recently was working in Melbourne Australia. I have spent the better part of this last year exploring Central America, the Pacific Northwest of Canada, and most recently spent a month travelling the Balkans. I am passionate about seeing different corners of the world and saying yes to most experiences. To live a life worthy of a decent memoir is the dream. I am truly though, hoping to discover what it is that I love to do, what truly makes me happy, and I how I can best contribute to this crazy world.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in leaving things in better condition than when I found them, houses, belongings, people, doesn't matter.

I am someone who cares, perhaps too much sometimes

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

It's nice to be nice and it's not difficult to be a good person. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite movie: Forrest Gump
Favourite book: Oh! The Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss has special meaning for me
Favourite music: honestly anything, however being an "enthusiastic dancer" (as my friends call me) anything I can dance to is very much enjoyed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Best sights:
North America: giant trees on Vancouver island , snow covered mountains of Banff, the Grand Canyon, the warm waters of Oahu

Antipodeans: Franz Josef Glacier or Milford Sound in New Zealand, street art and architecture in Melbourne and the stars in the Outback of Australia

South east Asia: stunning beaches of Koh Rong, Cambodia and the Kuang Si Falls of Luang Prabang Laos

Central America: stunning blue waters of Belize or of the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula and the limestone pools in Semuc Champey, Guatemala

Eastern Europe: untouched coastline of Himara, Albania, bomb destroyed buildings in Mostar or Sarajevo in Bosnia.

Best adventures: skydiving, bungy jumping, hiking up waterfalls (or volcanoes, or glaciers!) volcano boarding, and graduating without any student loans!

Teach, Learn, Share

The good thing about being a teacher is that I am always learning. As a student I have a passion for knowledge that is nearly unquenchable. I can share with you all of my seemingly useless facts that come in handy during bar trivia, or teach you a thing or two about how the learning process works. Also happy to pass on travelling and packing tips and tricks I have acquired over the past few years. Ask me about my organizational methods and I'll likely get way too excited to tell you all about it. Ha!

I'm happy to learn anything new: practical life skills, new languages, obscure knowledge that I may never need to use again, a new sport. I'm pretty game for most things
