About Me

Hello everyone! :) My name is Jenn, and I recently completed my MSc in Biology at the University of Victoria (specifically, studying coral reef ecology). My many interests include reading, writing, spending time in the great outdoors, playing sports, and eating good food with amazing people.

I also love to travel, and someday I wish to be lucky enough to have a career that allows me to travel all over the world. Some of my bucket list travel destinations include Egypt, Greece, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand. Hopefully our paths cross during one or another of our travels! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an amazing way to travel the world without breaking the bank. However, it is so much more than just a way to save money - although I haven't surfed or hosted yet, I look forward to using Couchsurfing as a way to meet kind and adventurous people from all over the world, and to hear their stories and learn about each others' way of life.

Interests

I enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities - camping, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, scuba diving - and would love the opportunity to engage in some of these during my travels.

When I can find the time I also love to create things (mainly through writing, drawing, and painting). I have hopes to one day learn how to play the guitar, and I also really enjoy reading (mainly fiction and poetry).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently returned from a three-month backpacking trip, where I spent one month each travelling around Spain and Japan, and another month studying at a Japanese language school. Along the way I was robbed, I missed a train, and I had (debatably) the worst hangover of my life, but I also met amazing people, saw beautiful places, and had many unforgettable experiences :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

As someone who is very interested in world culture I would love the opportunity to exchange knowledge and stories, and I would be happy to help out with cooking, cleaning, or anything else that needs to be done around the house during my stay. While I may not be the most experienced chef, I've been told I make a pretty good stir fry and would be happy to share this delicious dish with my hosts.

Countries I’ve Visited
